Small towns that are good for the arts...
I am thinking of moving to this area in 3-4 years. I like the feel of Abingdon VA. Could anyone tell me what it is like there? What areas are good for the arts in the area?

MBMOUSE; I have just joined and have been following threads since winter and you seem to be quite active, knowledgeable and willing to help.
We just sold our house in upstate NY [ugh] and have 6 weeks to find a home to rent in Jonesborough, where we want to settle. I have not found anything and we getting very nervous! Any tips, links, ideas would be greatly appreciated.

Wow, wish I could help you but my only suggestion would be to check Craigslist, E-Classifieds, local paper classifieds and so forth. About all of them are going to require a 1 year lease, no pets allowed. That seems to be the typical requirements. Other than that, not sure how much help I can be. But I can say Welcome home to TN!
