If so where are they located, also any grocery stores or chains that sell loose leaf tea. I just prefer the flavor to bagged tea. Also do any offer samples?

Don't go to Wal-Mart because all their tea is probably made in China.

When I first saw this thread I thought the OP was referring to loose leaf paper. In order of closest to farthest, I would check out Whole Foods or Earth Fare in Johnson City, Inari Wines in Bristol, VA or the Wines of Distinction next to The Tavern in Abingdon, VA and Zazzy's coffee shop also in Abingdon, VA. You may end up with Wines of Distinction for selection, even though it is the farthest.

Fresh Market might have something. Natural Foods Market (JC) might too.

Don't feel bad, I thought it was referring to some of the new designer drugs and bath salts in the paper!

Natural Food Market and The Health Barn does have some loose tea in bulk bins, so you can get small amounts to see what you like. If you are ever towards Asheville, they also have a good selection at Greenlife Grocery (Whole Foods bought them, but they're still Greenlife on the outside).

Oh, forgot to mention - a family favorite for tea is online - Adagio Tea - you can buy small amounts of multiple teas. It's very high quality, and they have some unusual blends. The local places around here that sell bulk loose teas are all from the same place, so there isn't a lot of variety. Adagio has tons to choose from.

Another good online source for trying tea is Golden Moon. They have foil sealed sample bags (2-3 cups each) and a very large selection. I bought a sampler pack there for my husband's birthday last year, and it was very nice.
