I saw this on your weather report. What makes the air quality get bad at times? I also saw the same for Knoxville. Thanks.

Ozone Action Day explained: Ozone Action Day - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

As I understand it, pollution in the air travels from West to East. When the airflow is stagnant (like it is in this heat wave), ground level ozone gets trapped in this area due to the mountains being to our East and the pollutants being to our west. Automotive emissions and industry are the primary causes.

Thank you. That's understandable!

Default Also the humidity...

The humidity in this area is suffocating some days.

I know about the ozone action days but wanted to throw in the humdity thing.

My sis in law just got back from California and said there is NO humidity there and when she got back it was like stepping into a sauna.

Thsat's the one thing that scares me about moving there. We have very low humidity here in CA. I have relatives that moved to Nashville from the beach in So. CA & they don't seem to mind the humidity!
