Default Wanting to Get Back Home

All of your posts about how great E TN is makes me so homesick. Some of you may have seen my posts, I was raised in JC til I was 8 yrs old, then my parents moved us up north . . . the dreaded "up north".

I've known for years now that I want to retire south, but where? Not Florida, cause I lived there for 3 years recently, and how awful it is I don't want to describe here . . . but I will: expensive (in so many ways) crowded, traffic, crime, hot, humid, yada, yada, yada.

Bottom line - I so look forward to getting back to my childhood home and the home of my ancestors for many generations.

All of you who are transplants, enjoy. And please get on line here and give all of us who want to be there all kinds of information. Thanks for your efforts!

We will be moving from Maine to TN. Cannot wait. We WILL be in TN before next fall, come heck or high water. I am so sick of the cold, long winters here.

Born & raised in Kingsport, ETSU graduate, moved to Atlanta in '86 and then overseas in '93, returned to Atlanta in '96 and finally back to Kingsport in '02. Appreciate the area much more than I did when I was growing up here, which is one of the main reasons I like to get out and explore so much.

I was stationed in Brunswick for a bit in the service and loved it there. What part of Maine are you from and why are you leaving? If you don't mind my asking.

I am from just outside of Auburn, though I was raised and born in Hancock County (Maine). Leaving because our winters are too darn long and cold for me. The cold here bothers my asthma also. Not to mention, we are sick and tired of being taxed to death by the state of Maine.

Default West Central Florida

I was born in Clearwater and raised here, have never lived anywhere else.. an actual true Floridian. I'm quite ready to go somwhere new! And as a lifelong Floridion ummm.. pushing 40 years... I have to say that the last 5 years have been especially bad with the heat. My husband is origionally from Massachusets.. and has had it with the heat too.. he moved here 10 years ago and has also noticed it getting worse.
