My husband and I just moved here 2 months ago from Nashville, TN. I am originally from Hendersonville, Tn about 20 minutes north of Nashville. My husband is orginally from West Palm Beach. We both love this area and I think we will be here for a long time.
Let me know how your pedi goes at Grace Day Spa!

Not a chance of that pedicure happening. It was a hypothetical question, I can't stand to have my feet touched.

I was born and raised in the suburbs of St. Louis County Missouri. Moved to Bristol almost 4 years ago due to my husbands job. I wish I had found this group a long time ago : )
The kids and I just returned home from visiting the family in St. Louis. It sure feels good to be back here in TN!

I'm from NE Ohio, between Akron and Cleveland in the "Emerald Necklace" area, near the Cuyahoga Valley National Park. We bought a farm in Piney Flats and will be breaking ground within WEEKS (ooi-ooi - doin the happy dance) In the past few years I bet we've been down to Piney 20 times or more. Anymore it's like a "little road trip." We grab little Niko (Yorkie) and pack a bag, and off we go.
Our daughter and her husband rent from us and live in the little farm house with their two German Shepherd mix dogs and two horses. We've put in roads all through the farm, three pastures and an enormous outdoor riding arena. Cut down a ton of dead trees and live ones that were in the way of the electric lines that will come through. We've mowed until we can mow no more, trimmed, cleaned the barn of years of cobwebs and dirt, cleared out big rocks, and now that our house has sold here in Hudson, we can begin building on the highest point of the property. Down the road, once they save enough money, our daughter and her husband will build somewhere on the land, too. Our son and his wife and twin baby boys will be moving from North Carolina to the farm, too, and are saving up to build too. It will be a family compound
Been hitting the garage sales and newspaper ads and are buying our bathroom sinks, faucets tubs, hardware and lighting for dirt cheap here in Ohio and hauling them down each time we head south. We've got both bathrooms outfitted, and I'll buy most or all of the lighting for the house on eBay most likely. We'll watch the second hand shops in the Tri Cities for deals on doors and so forth.
We are so excited! I will be horse shopping by next summer. Ain't no one gonna say "neigh" to that

Pinney, you need to check out Yankee Salvage on 11E in Jonesborough when you get here, I get doors, lights etc there for great prices and it saves me the cost of shipping from ebay.

Ah! And they named it after us Yanks! Um...does that mean they jack up the prices for Yankees?
Thanks, MB. We will definitely check that place out. I'll put on my best Tennessee accent so they don't suspect my Ohio origins. Do ya think if I say "y'all" I'll be safe?

So if I see a little ole light switch plate for $200 that would be my cue to say, "Can y'all do any better on this price?"
