Default Kingsport Pavilion Update

As some of you might know Kingsport is working on a shopping center on East Stone Drive called Kingsport Pavilion. This shopping center is going to be built in two phases, right now the work is in phase one and already a number of stores are open. This is to be a very large shopping center in the Tri-Cities. When it's fully completed 30 retail locations are expected to be here and quite a number of places to eat also! Here is an update on the list of stores open now and the ones to open in the future. Some rumored but unconfirmed listings are also in this post.

Target's grand opening was October 14th. The Target in Kingsport is very nice, twice the size of the JC one according to the paper. The store features a limited grocery section, Starbucks, a pharmacy, and a Pizza Hut Express!

Kohl's grand opening was October 4th.

Old Navy is now open.

Shoe Carnival is now open.

Dick's Sporting Goods is opening very soon.

Books-A-Million. No confirmed date but hopefully if I had to take a guess I'd say by year end.

Maurices is moving out of the Fort Henry Mall and is scheduled to open at Kingsport Pavilion in Mid November.

Lifeway Christian Bookstore, unknown when they are opening at this time.

Michael's but I don't know when they are suppose to open.

Rumored Kingsport Pavilion Tenants:
Bed Bath and Beyond is rumored to be coming to the location. I believe this one is true but I can't confirm it.

Best Buy - I've heard this but I'm highly skeptical of how true this one is.

The Target store is very nice. I work for the JC one and helped out with Planorama and stocking at the Kingsport store. Books-A-Million too??? Ooooh... I might have to move to Kingsport!

Is the JC Target ever going to be remodeled or move to a new location? The one in JC just seems really rundown to me, it's small, and is lacking even a pharmacy which almost all Targets have these days. I normally like Target but I have to say the one in JC is the crappiest one I ever seen.

I shopped at the new target this weekend, too. It is so much nicer than the JC target. Although I'm in Piney Flats, I may have to start shopping in Kingsport!!

I believe they will have a new location in the just being built mall right down the road from Old Navy on West State of Franklin.

Yup, I don't believe it's 100% assured yet but the plans I have heard are for a Super-Target in the to-be-built shopping complex across the highway from the Medtech Corridor.

If it comes to fruition, I will be so excited. I really miss using the Super Target in west Knoxville!
