Unicoi High School (Johnson City, Erwin: live, shops, move)

I am considering a teaching job at Unicoi High and would like information about the school. I've done some searches and see that it is relatively new and is fairly small. Can anyone tell me more personal experiences or what the town of Erwin is like? I grew up in the south and have lived in AL, GA, TX, OK and will move from central PA. Thanks in advance!

Welcome to Unicoi County. The school was built only a few years ago after the population outgrew the space at the old building. Pretty good thing too. The old building was nothing to be desired as it was so old.
The towns of Erwin and Unicoi are located in Unicoi County, which has a population of 16,000 or more. Very quiet, small town feel where children still ride their bikes down main street and baseball teams still celebrate at Sonic and the local ice cream shops after a game.
I work in Erwin and live only a few miles outside the county in Johnson City, just because it is in the middle for me and hubby.
Interstate 26 runs through the county and has the most beautiful scenic drive that you will ever see. It is 45 minutes from Asheville and 15 from Johnson City. If I had my preference I would move here in a heartbeat.
