c.shultz obviously hasn't spent much time in TN. They are friendlier than the people I have meet in FL. I'm looking forward to a change of heart. TN people are considerate, respectful. Not like most of FL people are disrespectful and inconsiderate. Take another look around and visit TN.

Well, I'm born and raised in TN so I think I've spent many years here. Listen, I totally understand how everyone wants that little hometown, close knit community feeling... I've had it all my life and it will forever be something I've cherished. However, in my opinion, with as many new people that are coming in that feeling will get lost rather quickly. So I hope you can understand where I'm also coming from. Another thing that I realllllllllllly dislike is the attitude that most out of staters show to the people here. Country folk were here long before anyone started showing an interest in this area. Oh and statistics, those are all well and good but get out into the community honey and see where people are coming from

If it was me you were referring to with the "honey", I AM out and about in the community and the people I see moving here from elsewhere are very considerate and respectful of the locals.

Frankly, I don't give a flyin' flip where anyone's from as long as they're good, kind-hearted folks. I'd much rather be surrounded by good people, regardless of their roots, than live next to hostile "local yokels." I also grew up in NE Tenn. (Kingsport) and while a great many people in this area are wonderful, salt-of-the-earth types, I've known quite a few natives that I'd like to ship far, far away from Tennessee. |

There are two campgrounds near the TriCities Airport off I-81. I believe one is a KOA (it was a few years ago when we stayed there) and the other is private. My inlaws stayed a few months in the private campground while relocating here from Florida. If you need the name, let me know and I'll check it out for you.

I'm originally from KY. There are very nice people there. It was really a culture shock for me to live here near Miami (job related). I can't say what FL people are like who live outside this area, but I really can't believe people can be so RUDE. It can really wear on a person to deal with that day after day. I find myself following in there footsteps and I hate that. My husband is worse. Hopefully the attitude of the people in TN will rub off on the FL people who move to TN and they won't corrupted TN. I think if you live around nice people it can change your bad attitude. My opionion. I'm ready to get out of South FL

My personal opinion is to NOT by a mobile. My mother bought one and I lived in one for a few years with her so I'm not knocking on people who live in them. With that said, they are not a good investment. If you have the ability to buy a stick built home, I would suggest you go that route. Mobile homes tend to DEpreciate whereas a stick built home will APpreciate. Mobile's also have a stigma on them. I know that I've heard from alot of buyers that they would not want to purchase one and do not want to live near them either. Plus, from my experience in living in one, they aren't the greatest. I remember being able to hear everything going on in the house even with my door shut. The walls inside are just so thin, it's like they're made of cardboard. And ours was a brand new double wide so age had nothing to do with it.
