Default Macy's in JC?

Well, as we all know (or any of us that drive around Roan street with the guys holding the signs), Goody's is closing in the JC mall. Not sure why.

Today, I heard from someone that Macy's was going into the open spot! Has anyone else heard this or is there any way to verify it?

If so, OMG!!!!! My life will be complete!

Default Macys

Well i have heard that JC is getting a Macys's but i dont think it is going to be in the old Goody's location . When the mall first announced there expansion /renovation they are going to open up the current goody's store for more smaller shops etc... Last rumor i heard on Macy's was in the new shopping center across from med tech.

As for Goody's, from what I understand the sales were just really poor.

And I also believe its Dillards, not Macy's that will be the new anchor store.

Yes, the talk is the JC Mall is getting Dillards in the future and NOT Macy's. I really don't see this area getting a Macy's, at least not anytime soon as Knoxville doesn't even have one yet.

Dillard's and Macy's are pretty similar stores so it really doesn't matter.

I really prefer Macy's, myself. For some reason, we get Macy's advertising here (but not Dillard's), so...

Since I first heard this, I've asked around, and heard lots of things, including Macy's going into the Mall at JC and Dillards being an anchor store for a new mini-mall to be built on Boones Creek exit(!).

So I guess it's just wait and see time. I really, really, really hope it's Macy's, and not Dillard's.

Can't say that I'd disagree. It's difficult for Goody's to compete with nicer, comparatively priced stores like Belk and Pennys. Plus, in the past few years, I noticed Goody's clothing was ranging remarkably toward an older fashion... instant death in retail!
