NV to TN is on a distinguished road
Question Moving to the area

First off let me introduce myself here my name is Stephanie and my soon to be husband Ed and I are wanting to relocate from Nevada to Tennessee in the next few months. We don't know a whole lot about the area so I was hoping that maybe you kind folks could help me out here. We have been looking at the Tri City area and we really are drawn to it. My finace works in the mining industry right now but we have looked into mining online and don't find much of that over there. He also works in warehousing so we figure that is a field he can get into out there. What is the job market like out there for that type of work? I am also curious about the rental housing market. We want to rent a house not an apt. Right now we are in Northern Eastern Nevada and we really want to move to a place that is better to raise children in. I have 3 boys ages 15, 11 and 7. Any help that you can provide will be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.

Hi Stephanie,
Welcome to the forum, lots of great people here who like to give info about the towns/areas they like. I hope we are able to help you out and answer your questions.
If your hubby does warehouse work, there is that available here, quite a bit of it but most companies that hire for that kind of work do the "temp to hire" through an employment agency. You can find several of those that are here in this area on line. It is a VERY good idea and strongly recommended (by myself and others on here for what that is worth ) that you have a job lined up BEFORE you move. That will also help with proving income for a rental house. I have seen several houses in and around JC and Kingsport that have "For Rent" signs in front of them. Now if they advertise in the local newspapers or not, I am not sure. Sticking a sign in front of the house with a number on it, or park the car/truck/boat/ATV/furniture with a for sale sign on it in the front yard is a popular way to advertise around here. But some do pay for the add, you can check here. :: Johnson City Press - Welcome ::
I hope that helps.

Default From CO to TN

My husband and I are thinking of moving to JC or Boone. He is a general residential contractor. Is there building going on in this area?
We have Siberian Huskies and don't want them to be miserable. Is the humidity very high in the Summer?

Thanks
