^ I agree with this. If daughter finds Kingsport to be somewhere she would be interested in living, it's a fine city (normal shopping, Bays Mountain, etc.), and probably lots of folks working at Eastman live and play there.

Thanks for the information. My daughter is plugged in with Eastman HR but is very busy with school right now so I'm just trying to do some leg work for her.

Kingsport is a great city and there is a lot going on downtown--and starting to anyhow, in terms of bars/restaurants. There are many options for living--whether it be an established, quaint and older neighborhood or an apartment complex or new housing development.

A lot of people on here are pro-Johnson City--which I am as well. But, Kingsport is not a "depressed town economically" or not a good place to live, by any means. Compared to Johnson City, Kingsport tends to be more conservative somewhat, and more of an older, established town and resembles a rust belt city more-so than a southern one. JC is more happening due to ETSU and a push to develop the downtown and gentrify it.

Kingsport has a ton of great areas and is a great quality of life. Eastman has pledged to invest billions in the area for the future, and it's given the Kingsport area a lot of development push. Your daughter should check it out and see what she thinks, in person.
