Right next to the Double Tree is the JC Mall so if your kids like shopping, there is that. Right behind the Double Tree and to the West is a Movie Theater. Across Roan Street and up in front of Target, there is a bowling Alley. A mile or so East on Roan is Fun Expedition which has laser tag, indoor mini golf, go carts and all kinds of games.
I think you will be able to entertain them easily enough in that part of town.

You might also check out Westview Elementary which is in the David Crockett High School area plus they are building a new elementary school on 11E in Telford which will also feed Jonesborough Middle and Crockett High.

Wow, what blind luck! I can't believe all that is around the hotel, the kids will be thrilled. I will have 2 boys with me, both under 10, and a little girl who is 3. She would love the shopping but I would have to drag the boys kicking and screaming!

Williboy- Do you know when the new school is set to open? We love all the pictures we have seen of your area, we are going to come that way for sure.

I have been trying like mad to find a map of the boundry lines for the different schools in Washington county, but so far no luck. I found a website that said it did, but turned out it didn't. The hardest part of this is finding the info on the schools. Most of the websites seem to be behind, and the best ones want money to check the school ratings.

Thanks again to everyone for all the info!

Ok, so this is just amazing to me. I was going to ask all of you nice people here where I might find a Starbucks aound the area of our hotel. Then I thought I really shouldn't bother you with something like that and would see of I could find one on-line. Lets face it most hotel coffee sucks. So I go to Starbuks website and found out I can put in my starting point and final destination and they listed every Starbucks along the way! Even listed out my directions like mapquest. I can't believe they even have such a thing! So I guess my question now is how do I find North Roan street from the Double Tree...

Easy. Go out of the Double Tree parking lot, turn right, go through stop sign (after stopping please ) go to the light, turn left onto Roan St. (this is all about 500-800 yards. ) go about a city block, turn right into Starbucks parking lot, order coffee, sit down and enjoy.

Sorry, I don't know of any school district maps either.

Based on what I 've been told plus looking at the progress on the building, it should open next fall.
