Hey, I'm a 19 year old female, looking for an apartment in Johnson City. I'll be moving there in the summer, transferring to ETSU. I'm looking for an apartment that is under $450, nice (apartment and surrounding environment), and is quiet enough for a premed student. I've been looking around online, and just want some honest opinions on some of the apartments surrounding campus. Thanks so much.

Bekah

My step son lives right off campus in the apartments behind the school, Campus Ridge. They are nice, they share with 3 others. 4 bed rooms each unit, common living, laundry and kitchen. It is $350 for a new lease or $330 for a sublet if some one is moving out. They screen room mates, such as they put pre meds together and match room mates by interests. Kinda cool. My son really likes it there.

To get an apartment under $450 you'll have to take a step down in quality. Chuck Rich has some apartments for around that (Fieldcrest, et. al.), but they are just so-so apartments, very small, sort of dark. You should also check out Homestead properties (my landlords). Their apartments are nice though I'm not sure if you can find something you can afford, but maybe.

Also, I found that using Kingsport's daily (The Times-News) instead of Johnson City's (JC Press) helped. Both papers have online databases of their classifieds.
