Need a break to get to Eastern Tennessee!!
We are trying to relocate to Greeneville and/or The Tri-Cities area. My husband is having a hard time finding a job. I know that the unemployment rate is high in Greene County. We know that this is the place to raise our family. The quality/cost of living is soooo much better than South Florida. He has over 15 years in the automotive field. Currently he is at a Dodge,Chrysler,Jeep dealer as a Parts Wholesale Manager. He has previously has experience with Saturn and Pep Boys. He is very automotive inclined and has a large assortment of tools. He also works at Home Depot part time, previously owned his own lawn business and is a fork lift operator. Home Depot is not hiring full time right now, so we can not get a transfer right now. We really need to get out of South Florida and just need a break. Is there anyone out there that can help us or point us in a direction that we haven't thought of yet? Thank You

Have you contacted some of the Employment agencies here in North East TN? The other thought is to go onto the web sites for stores such as Advanced Auto, O'Rilies, Auto Zone, Nappa and such to see if and where they are hiring. You could also search for car dealers in this areas web sites and see if they are hiring.
Just some thoughts.

There's lots of jobs that I see in warehouses that require fork lift license. Not sure if that's what you're looking for. The Kingsport Times News (I think it's times-news.net, if not, you can Google it) has the best jobs database that I've found, better than the Johnson City Press. Also, there are a few jobs on bettertcjobs.com but not many. I've used snagajob.com too with good results.
Looking at all these in the Tri-Cities region (37743=Greeneville, 37604=JC, 37660=Kingsport) might help you get an idea of the kind of jobs available.
It's a tight market here.

Can he not transfer to one of the Dodge-Jeep dealers up here? I know Bristol has a Chrysler-Jeep-Dodge dealership and I know that KPT and JC does as well.

We are trying. I dont know if I should believe what I've heard about not being a good ol' boy will not get you a job. Things are just so expensive here in South Florida. Thanks for all the help
