We Are Back. Yeah!
I am sooo happy to be back home after spending 6 long months in FL. We got in yesterday and we already started working on our property. I love it here and would stay year round but my hubby hates the cold. I guess he'll be hibernating this weekend.
Just wanted to share my happiness. So when can I start planting trees?

Wow Tennessee cold in Winter? Hardly. Try being in Wisconsin in the winter . I can't wait till I can call Tennessee home some day. The winters there are a lot more mild than Wisconsin.

Welcome home younglisa7!
I planted some trees just the other day so I sure hope you can start planing them now! If not, I have 12 dead trees.
No worries on the weather for hubby, warm in the day and chilly in the evenings, but that just makes for good snuggling weather.

Sorry to hear about your trees. What kind were they? We first planted hemlock-the beavers liked those. Last year we tried Frasier Firs but @75% of those died. This year we are trying Cypress. Cross your fingers for us that they make it.
You are right about it being snuggling weather except I am always hot.
We will be heading out in about an hour to start a clean up round. Got the mower and 4-wheeler started yesterday and the trailer is hooked to the 4-wheeler. Can't wait to get to work. Can you tell I am ecstatic to be back?

Gotta say, I'm another Wisconsinite wishing I could have your winters, instead of ours I guess it is much colder in Tn. then in Fl. though. Hopefully, hubby will appreciate Tn. summers over Florida's hot & humid ones! I'll take four mild seasons over one anyday.

JoshB ans dlk33,
I agree with you both. I think the weather in the TN mountains is ideal all year long. I am just so happy to be back. We might actually build a small house on our land and stay longer this coming year. Yeah!

Love the TN 'cold'
We are both from WI and now living in Central FL and cannot wait until we make our permanent move to East TN, specifically Blount County. Hope your husband has a change of heart soon. We were in WI in late February--snowbanks 8-10 feet high; 3" of fresh powdery snow the night before heading to the airport! I think NOT in TN. Enjoy the best of both worlds. Love your outdoors spirit!
