moving to johnson city
I need help on where to look for a job and an apt. I am a single mother with a teenage daughter and looking to move into the best area of johnson city. I am recently living in fayetteville nc with some friends which turned out to be a horrible nightmare. I have been here for six months and still can't find a job. I have human resources, customer service and administrative experiences. I would like to move into an area that also have good high school. I am planning on moving within the next month so I really need help. I am planning on visiting next week to get a fill of the atmosphere. I recently moved from Memphis TN and knew I had to leave there. Crime was horribly. But I really want to get back into Tennessee I really miss a lot that it has to offer. North Carolina is definitely not for me and my daughter. Thanks

Science Hill is the city high school; it's a good school by all counts. The Washington County high schools I'm less familiar with; I think they're Daniel Boone and David Crockett (and maybe others?)
Apartments are fairly easy to find due to the large number of ETSU students living in and around the city, a nice enough 2/1 or 2/2 should run between $500 and $700 a month.
I recommend using Kingsport's daily to find apartments and jobs. (Yes, even for apts/jobs in Johnson City!)
Apartments:
Classified Ads for Northeast Tennessee and Southwest Virginia
Jobs:
The Tri-Cities Internet Employment Database- Updated Daily by Times News Online!
Good luck in your search and let us know how it turns out!

Weird, I live in Homestead's Willow Creek with few problems. The dishwasher broke, they fixed it two days later. The garbage disposal was making weird noises and vibrating, they replaced it altogether!

Johnson City is a great place. I lived there for 2 years and it was a great exprience for me. If you want to live in a nice place, check out Silvercreek Apartments in North Johnson City
In JC you can get anywhere in town within a 5-15 min drive, isnt that awesome?

Depends on the time of day. I'd say it's very awesome except at 8 am and 4:30 pm! But then again I live back on Seminole Drive so during traffic times I'm right in the thick of it!
