Possible relo to Bristol
Hello. We are yet another family who has an opportunity to move from FL to Bristol, either on the TN or VA side. We would like to hear about quality of life there, ie. friendliness, cost of living, schools, things to do, weather, etc. It seems housing is more affordable up there, and there appears to be some newer neighborhoods. Bristol TN seems a bit larger than Bristol VA. How do the 2 states compare ? The job would be mostly on the TN side, but we hear the town is literally split down the middle, so everyone runs state-to-state for different things anyways.
Thanks so much. Terry

I recommend living on the Tennessee side. No state income tax. Shop in Virginia where sales tax is significantly lower. Nice area for work or retirement. Close to TVA lakes and convenient to N. Carolina ski slopes. Home of NASCAR'S most popular racetrack, Birthplace of Country Music Museum and minor league baseball. An easy day's drive to Washington, Detroit, St. Louis, Jacksonville or eastern beaches. Excellent medical and educational facilities. Lots of friendly people, including many from other states. Four distinct seasons. You can't lose.

That doesn't seem right. I'd either move to VA or find a job in TN.

It is good though to see someone mention Bristol over Kingsport or Johnson City.
