Hey all, my wife and I are huge drag race fans and we decided to celebrate our 25th anniversary at Thunder Valley June 16th 2018. I am seeking opinions on hotels and dinner after the event that are within a middle-class families budget.

Anyways thanks in advance for any and all help on the subject.

I would stay at the hotels off exit 74 in TN or exit 7 on the VA side. Exit 74 has a Hampton and maybe a Fairfield, exit 7 has a Marriott if you want more upscale and a few others.

Ridgewood is in Bluff City and is a regional BBQ favorite. I'd also recommend Burger Bar and Whiskey Rebellion in downtown Bristol.

The airport exit in Blountville/Kingsport has several nice options for nice budget hotels

Hi. DH said:

1. If you're going to a Top Fuel race, bring ear plugs.

2. He said watching any race is spectacular plus you will hear an "echo" about a second after the cars run - thus the name Thunder Valley.

3. Go down in the Pits as they have a lot of free stuff.

4. Whatever hotel you choose, pick a top name and book as early as possible --- don't wait until the "last dog's hung" or you might not get a hotel.

When DH spent the night, it was for a circle track race and they ended up being an hour south of the track.

5. Can't help in the restaurant department, as I always stay home with the horses - I shudder to to think what the guys ate, when on their own, lollol

5.1. If you have time to do some research, you migh visit the Tennessee Crossroads website.

https://tennesseecrossroads.org

They have a weekly TV show on the Nashville NPT channel and feature neat little mom n pop eateries all over Tennessee. Anything around Bristol, Johnson City, maybe even Knoxville or places in between, might be of interest. Generally the eateries they visit have more to offer than just great food

Congratulations on your upcoming 25th anniversary! I hope you have a wonderfully memorable time at Thunder Valley
