If there is a decent house in a decent neighborhood for sale for that price, that's pretty amazing. But the bottom line is: the prices are real good compared to the rest of the country.

I know it! Too bad everyone is not able to have that pride for their community!

vmidnightdreamer is on a distinguished road
Johnson City also has the highest Gay population, and Gay clubs. Where Kingsport is more conservative. I lived in Kingsport for 16 years, went from elementary school (Lincoln) to high school (Dobyns Bennett). I still have family there and visit often. Kingsport can't be beat!!

Apparently what you can't beat is the number of narrow minded people in Kingsport.

OOoohhh...run everybody....the Gaaaayyyy people are here!

Get a life, an education, and a real job and you wouldn't be worried about that.

Do you stay awake at night worrying about a Mexican taking your job too? (How many doctors are rolling over at night hoping some mexican doctor doesn't sneak over the border to get his job?)

Hmm, I think midnightdreamer's comments were neutral, not gay bashing. But anyway, s/he is right, there are more gay people here (said without data as proof). We're the biggest city, with the only university and the largest med-tech establishment in the Tri-Cities. Of course there are more gay people here.

I would probably agree until they underlined the word...twice.

Hi Everyone - this is one of those cases where it is a judgment call. I actually spent some time on that post yesterday, went to delete, came back and re-read it later in a different frame of mind and ultimately decided that it was within TOS and I should take the comments at face value and not read anything into it. Yes, words were underlined, but everyone on here is entitled to their opinion and I didn't see a personal attack.

That poster does not live in Kingsport, but used to, and there was a subsequent comment that Kingsport folks are narrow minded. Again, that comment is not fair to all of the citizens of Kingsport, but there was no personal attack. And, that opinion is allowed.

I hope that this helps explain some of what we do as Moderators. It isn't always easy to make these decisions. All members are appreciated and welcome to post here. I do read each and every post on here, but if you ever have a question about specific posts feel free to DM me or use the Report Post button. I am human and sometimes I do miss something or haven't gotten to it yet.

Have a great day everyone. I appreciate you.
