I drive by this behemoth most days, and just curious why it's sitting vacant.

The address is 2550 E Stone Dr Kingsport TN. It's a little bit past Lowe's on the left if you're heading toward The Pavilion.

It looks like the most recent occupant was Penn Virginia Oil & Gas. Anyone remember what happened there? That website lists The Pavilion as "new," so the pictures must be at least a decade old. I drove around the back of the building today and it was heavily vandalized - most of the second level windows were broken, the lower level was boarded up, and one of the back doors was open.

Why wouldn't the city make the owner clean this up? The place needs to be demolished or rehabbed. That's prime real estate on a major arterial that's completely idle.

It's owned by these guys out of Detroit, Michigan: Crown Enterprises Inc
Crown Enterprises, Inc. But the property does not appear on their website.

The image on google maps shows the center of the warehouse building collapsed in. A 2015 GIS image shows the same damage repaired. So they've had to pump some $ into it recently.

This seems like a prime development spot, I agree.

I remember back in the '80s it was Mason-Dixon Lines. Would be great to see something go in there.

Eastman had offices there in the late 90s. It was pretty nice inside. Shame they are letting it waste away.
