Default Travelers Inn, Elizabethton

Hello all.
I am traveling up to the Tri-Cites next month and my first
stop is Elizabethton. Is anyone fimiliar with the "Travelers Inn"
on West Elk Avenue in Elizabethton? It seems to be in the center of things.
I am go to ride up Stoney Creek and then move on to other areas.
I'll be staying in J.C. after that looking at Telford/ Limestone and I am
planning a peak at Piney Flats. What an adventure. Gas me up Scotty!
How about that Travelers Inn?
Thank you for any info.

Don't know about that inn, but if you're here on a Saturday night, you need to go to the downtown area of Elizabethton for the old Car show that takes place every Sat. night, starting around 5 - between mid-April and OCt. or Nov. It's awesome. It's called the 'Cruise-in'.

The Travelers in could be categorized as a place to sleep at best. It used to be a Days Inn, but lost the franchise name because of its condition. There is an Americourt hotel in Elizabethton which might be a tad bit better, but not much. We had some family come in and stay at both when they visited so I can say without a doubt that both are not in the best condition. All of my family ended up moving to Johnson City hotels which are in much better condition. I would problably suggest staying Johnson City, just one town and 10-15 minutes over for better accomidations. Good luck and enjoy your travels!

GrannyLois, that car show sounds pretty good, sounds like a definate thing to do if i ever manage to make it down there, with gas prices the way they are i just might hitch up a team to a wagon load of hay then wave and smile at every gas station i pass

Well there TN Toaster, I am sure glad that I inquired. I do thank you for that
input. I had a feeling that was the case, but was not sure.
I stayed in J.C. when I made my last trip four years back and had a great stay on Roan Street. Your advice has settled the point. Insted of moving about I will use one anchor
hotel and work from there. Yes, I do remember that Eton was only a short drive.
Thank you again for responding.
I had planned a late Sunday arrival but Granny Lois has a good point about the
"Cruise-in" goings on in town and I can easily change my scheduel. It sounds like a grand idea and a good chance to get the feel of the town. Thank you for the suggeston Granny Lois.
Thanks for answering.
Regards, The Carpenter

You're welcome. You won't be disappointed. I love the 'teal' colored muscle cars.
