Could I get some opinions, is it good, over priced, do the vets truly care or all about the money?
We moved from CA to Idaho and it is all about the money here! So over priced and they don't give you a break no way. They don't care about animals. We've tried 6 in the 5 years we've been here! Some start out good and then forget it.
We are considering retiring to your area next spring with 3 dogs and a cat. Is the area pet friendly?
Thank you in advance.

I know of one area clinic that will work on a sliding scale for low income earners, the rest want to be paid up front or using one of their credit contracts. Price wise I can't really compare since we've not used anything out of the area in over a decade. The clinics we've used all seem to be professional and caring, no complaints there. One even sent a condolence card after telling my daughter her cat was too sick to save and had to be put down.
Pet friendly... depends on what you mean I guess? Pets allowed anywhere and everywhere? No. Lot's of dog friendly restaurants and stores? Not so I've noticed. Dog parks and the like? Some. Dogs treated like children, dressed up and carried around in purses and strollers? Some. Working animals treated as such? Yes. Do you have a specific concern in mind?

I know there is a mobile vet clinic in Hancock County (Sneedville). My husband called them and talked to them about the area. Haven't moved there yet, but hope to soon.

My family has used Cherry Point in Indian Springs and now Indian Ridge Animal Hospital in Kingsport for years now.

Indian Ridge has always done a great job for dogs/cats and is probably the best priced vet in town that I know of.

Avoid Robinson and the emergency clinics if you can. I really like Colonial Heights Animal Hospital. They are busy but good and fairly priced.

Is Robinson and the emergency clinics over priced or just not good?

Robinson is high. The emergency clinics are very high... like 3x normal. The Airport emergency clinic tried to push unnecessary procedures on me. It was going to be like $700+ for 3 stitches. But they are open if needed on Sunday or at 1 am.
