Default feathered friends heat reminder

A friendly reminder that when the temps go up quick like they have this week, our birdy friends need more water sources. So all you locals,be a good feathered friend and put out a tray of water for them. Just remember to change it often as to not attract mosquito's!

I just came back to Florida from my home in Roan Mtn I also feel for the birdies I feed them , the chipmunks, the sqirrels, the dear ect ect LOL I left a couple of my birdbaths full even though I have a frontage of running creek I still know with temps rising it surely doesn't hurt to assure that at least my nesting mama's have plenty to drink > Summersrain34

Well, today we had a feathered friend on the front lawn, under a tree, next to some water out for the cats. It was just standing there and not moving. Its eyes were closed and only opened them twice when it heard me. I thought it was just hot, so I got more cold water and placed directly in front of it. It never did drink any. I had to run some errands and came back and it had keeled over. and by that time the blazing sunshine was on it. I am assuming it died of old age, as it looked old, or it could have been diseased. It was a poor little ole' robin.
