Yeah, good thing you didn't pan a little to the right.  Parts of downtown are very nice, but Water St around Ftn Square generally isn't one of them! |

Nice picture! Looks very clean. I also seen some pictures of Kingsport and there downtown is beautiful as well.

Williboy... Can I make a suggestion??? Please post this on Wikipedia. Johnson City's page is pathetic to say the least. I think it would be helpful for others to see what our lovely city actually looks like!

Johnson City downtown is as safe tho as a small town can be
again i am from New Jersey and most cities there u cant go right or left without concern for you physical well being  |

I agree. Parts of Jacksonville, FL are so bad that they send police escorts with the ambulances and firetrucks. |

I was actually referring more to physical beauty, which the picture portrays. But if you move positions/angles just a little, that part of downtown is pretty darn ramshackle.
Downtown is much safer than some other parts of the city, but I agree in that there are only one or two streets that I would probably absolutely refuse to walk down at night.
