Default We have been Tennesseeans 3 weeks now :-) YAY

Phase 1 of our move to the Tri-Cities area is complete. We are staying with family & still have not settled on an exact place to live yet, but I like Gray, Boones Creek, Indian Springs areas a lot as well as Colonial Heights, but I hear some mixed reviews on that. We are taking our time to feel it out & have some really good ideas. Everyone I have asked about schools/places to live have been really informative & very open with their opinions which is awesome. I want to hear all the good/bad things so we make the right decision & do not have to move again really soon. The biggest hold up is selling our house in Atlanta first. I cannot swing the double mortgage so we may rent a townhouse or house if it takes too long to sell. We have spent a lot of time at the family lakehouse on Boone which has been great. My husband loves his job up here. This has been more of an adjustment to him than me since I grew up here. My daughter is in swimming lessons at South for the past two weeks & it has been great. Also enjoying the summer reading program at the library. I am really getting psyched for Fun Fest - yay. So far its a great as I hoped it would be. Now just waiting for phase 2. I have to go do some painting & fixing up down at the other house to help it sell quickly. Compared to "the grind" in Atlanta everything is so laid back up here & people are so nice. Its really amazing the differences and of course the scenery is breathtaking. :-) I just wanted to say thanks to everyone who provided much needed information. I am getting reaquainted the area. Its funny how things have changed a lot yet stayed the same in the basic important ways. I love that this area is kind of a throwback to simpler times. :-) It is really ironic that all of the reasons I wanted to move away when I was 18 are the same reasons I want to move back 14 years later. I guess I just had to get older to appreciate the area & realize what I was leaving behind. Thanks again guys!

Julie

Welcome Home, Julie!! I lived in Fayetteville and worked in Cobb County for 4 years. I couldn't wait to get back to the mountains!! I truly felt like I could breathe again when I returned. Atlanta is a fun place to visit but the traffic alone will wear you down!! I'll take this slower pace of life any day!

Yes! That is exactly what I said...I felt like I was suffocating in the city. I can breathe again. :-) I took a nice long walk on the greenbelt today & it was glorious. :-)
