Our daughter is in Rogersville
Our daughter is moving into their new place today in Rogersville. They have leased a 3 bedroom house with a finished basement and fenced yard in a very pretty neighborhood. Unfortunately when they got there to move in right after the owner of the house moved out, it was a pig sty. It is hard to believe any homeowner would rent their house out in the condtion that these people left it. How can they expect renters to treat it any better? And they are leasing it thru a real estate agency. One frustrated week and many calls back and forth to the agency later, they have the yard cleaned up, a dead tree cut down, the carpets cleaned and a cleaning crew came in and cleaned up the house. They have been in a motel this week. She said they are seeing lots of deer and she loves the weather. She was amazed that it was comfortable outside at 11 a.m.! It never is this time of the year in FL, no matter what time of the morning or even at night.
The road work continues on our road and is slated for completion Oct 2009. We keep a picture of northeast TN in our hearts and minds.
We went to a meeting of internet friends in Murfreesboro, TN the end of July. I have already met some of them and known them for years. We went to the home of our hostess in Shelbyville and they led our little "convoy" to Lynchburg and Miss Mary Bobo's for a delicious country meal and tales of the boarding house that it had been years ago for many Jack Daniels workers. It was an interesting little town also. We visited with my SIL in Dunlap and got to see more of their beautiful mountains in daylight this time. The end of her subdivision road goes straight up into a mountain and is beautiful up there! We hadn't been up that road till this trip. We also went to the Coke Ovens museum in Dunlap which is very interesting and really an amazing little museum for such a small town.
