This is a good question. I moved it from the "where are you from" thread because it would get lost in there and this is a whole new subject.
Personally, I would like to see more affordable and more destinations served at our airport.
I would also like to see a public service class taught to everyone obtaining a TN drivers license on how to use on ramps. I mean we have great road systems here for the most part but a lot of people stop at the end of an on ramp, I just don't understand that one.
Right on about the airports! None of my friends in New York can afford to visit me!
I would love to see wider roads and sidewalks, fresh fish stores, butcher shops with different selection( a chicken burger or beef pinwheel perhaps), turning lanes on 11-E to Greenville, and on many other roads.

I understand your comments about the other businesses, but am rather confused about the roads comments. I think all the main roads here are wider than other areas I have been too. Also, there are turning lanes in the median on 11 E to Greeneville.....?
I hate, hate, HATE all the litter! I know I shouldn't let it affect me but it really does drive me nuts, especially because I'm a native.
This is far too beautiful an area to have to suffer an onslaught of trash but far too many folks just don't give a flyin' flip. Worst of all are those drivers who toss out their cigarette butts with absolutely no regard for those behind them...pickup drivers who use their truck beds as rolling trash receptacles...illegal dumpers who have spoiled more banks & creek beds than you can shake a stick at...and those imbeciles who apparently feel compelled to ruin any particularly scenic spot by leaving their refuse behind.
FWIW, I don't know if any southern states are much better than TN when it comes to rampant littering, but this is my home state and as the old PSA goes, "There ain't no lower class than Tennessee trash."
Wow., I don't live there but seems ther must be a way to get people to stop this (like the possiblity of a big fine if caught or reported)!
Like a neighborhood watch type thing (it may make people stop and look over thier shoulder, & at the least 'think' before trashing!
The main thing I find wrong with Kingsport is the lack of doctors who will accept new Medicare patients. If you are a Medicare member make sure you can get a doctor before coming here.
Cigarette smoking seems to everywhere. No matter where I go in public the air is full of cigarette smoke.
Chemical odors, sometimes so bad they could gag a mule.
Lack of shopping. I find myself shopping in Johnson City because I cannot find the product I want in Kingsport. Grocery stores are Krogers, Food City, and White's all with limited stock.
Two of the worst Walmarts I have seen anywhere. No fresh fish and other seafood in the area.
Kingsport has invested heavily in traffic cameras, otherwise known as 24/7 revenue generators rather than invest on improving traffic flow.
I agree with the other post that mentions liter. Trash cans all over the parks and trash laying on the ground next to the trash can.
I grew up outside of Chicago and New York City so for me JC is in the middle of absolutely nowhere! You have to drive at least 6 hours to get anywhere worth being.
