I have. I really, really want to play the instrument I buy before I buy it. I'm experienced enough with other instruments to have seen some real lemons for sale before. Buyer beware on eBay, especially with instruments...

Good point on the buyer beware, and yet, you can get some real deals there too. It's always good to ask questions and read the fine print. What about posting a "wanted" on Craigslist for both Tri-Cities and Asheville regions. If I hear of anything I'll give you a shout. I watch Craigslist daily for all sorts of things. Good luck! Oh I love the sound of those hammered dulcimers!
