Default School info for Special needs child & tax info

We are looking at relocating to Grey, Kingsport, Johnson City area and wanted to know if anyone can tell me what school district would be the best choice for a special needs child. He is one of three in the world (to many things to go into) but he needs a Life skills program and he is 9 years old. We are willing to drive to work if needed to get a Good school setting for our children. Can anyone also tell me what the taxes run for homes. My taxes where I currently live is $5000.00/year. I would like to be able to consider the difference in our location package. Thanks

Kelly

Hello,
I would suggest that you call all the school boards and discuss your child's needs and see what each system has to offer. I know Daniel Boone in Gray does have a good program for special needs children, just not positive on the extend.
As for property taxes, in my opinion, comparatively to where I have lived before (CT, FL) here they are CHEEP! hahhaahha. I currently pay about $600 a year, county only, no city here in this part of Gray, for a 3/2 in a subdivision on about 3/4 acre.

You may also want to consider checking greatschools.net to see if they have info. Local parent support groups, if located, should be able to provide personal experiences.
