Default Manga/anime?

New to the area and need to know if there is a source anywhere in this area to buy or rent japanese anime? Any bookstores or libraries that stock manga? My kid normally gets the bulk of her stuff online, but sometimes she gets too impatient for that and prefers to just pick something up locally. Really hoping there is something in JC or Kingsport, does anybody have any suggestions where I might look?

Amazon ground shipping is usually 1 to 2 days maximium to Memphis. Can't be much worse to your area. Worth waiting a day or two to avoid tax, have free shipping, and buy 20% or so below MSRP. You can also use eBay, but various sellers can take more than a few days to ship if they are being lazy.

I highly recommend 12 Kingdoms. I just saw it recently, 45 episodes. The series is ranked #11 out of the top 200 anime. It's very clean, children are born from the pods of trees and it teaches good morals throughout the series:
AnimeNfo.Com

A great gift for her would be The Girl Who Leapt Through Time, due to be released November 18th. It won many awards and is considered to be one of the best anime movies of all time. Preorder now and you usually receive on release date (they ship early if it's already in stock):
Amazon.com: The Girl Who Leapt Through Time: Mamoru Hosoda: Movies & TV

It's ranked #8:

The two I recommend would be great from a girl's perspective since the hero's are female, so your daughter should love them!

I'm pretty sure both Books a Million and Barnes and Noble do in Johnson City. You also might want to check Mountain Comics on N Roan, if they don't carry they could special order.

Heh, coming from Memphis my daughter has been spoiled by the fact that she can run to the anime store on Summer Ave, or the bookstore at Oak Court mall to get her "fix" when she feels like she just has to have it now, especiallythe movies. She's a little worried that not living in a big city like Memphis, with acess to all her favorite places, might be a bit of a shock to her system. (Total understatement there)
I'll keep your suggestions in mind, always clueless what to get her for C'mas, so thanks.
BTW she's over 18, gave me a brief education on the meaning of yaoi when I saw that word at the anime store. I've learned I probably shouldn't ask so many qusetions.

Mountain comics sounds promising. I'll give them a call. Thanks.
