Default log homes

Can anyone give me some locations to research. We are wanting a log home (2000sq ft.) with lake and mountain views but still want to be in close proximity to shopping, airport and medical facilities. Plan to visit in the spring.

Are you wanting the old style log homes, or the newer round log, or newer square log?

We live in a log home that was originally built in the late 1700s and later lived in by a soldier in the Civil War. Alot of history behind it. We (my father) moved it from its original location to our property and rebuilt it (adding modern conveniences of course .

Your log home sounds great but we are looking for one that is no more than 5 years old.We may also look at having one built to our plans. We have researched different companies on the internet and it appears if we want a new a turnkey would be the easiest way to go. Would appreciate any insight. Need a location and plan on visiting the area in March - April 2009.We will both be retired in 2 years.

OK. I will see what I can find out.

There are log home hits available, but I do not recall which ones are best. I will check out my resources.

We are planning to visit JC 12/12 for a couple of days to check out the area. Any recommendations of places to look at Log homes or land available with mountain and /or a water view would be appreciated. We do plan to talk to some real estate agents.
