Yes, I know. Red Chili Korean food. It is very good even though it is not as authentic as you might think. It is more to American taste than real Korean... I know because I am Korean. Try BiBimbob, Bulgogi, mandookuk next time.

If you don't mind my asking, are there any (many) oriental food stores in the "Tri-cities" area? My wife is Japanese and God forbid she should have to eat "foreign" (ie American) rice.
Thanks

Leo's Oriental Market is inside (I think) the Stock Pot, a store near Sam's Club in North Johnson City.
Google also returned "Jade Tree" on 1805 N Roan St #E5, but I've never heard of it.
You might also try Alatua African Market (on N Roan, near the old General Shale going towards Boones Creek). Probably not going to carry a lot of what you're looking for but they may be able/willing to carry or special order.

There is also an Indian market in Colonial Heights in the shopping center behind Crazy Tomato.

I will be trying this place when I come in Thursday. Since I've never had Korean food, this should be interesting.

You might want to ask the waitress what is spicy or not, if you're not prepared for spicy food. Some things there are VERY hot.

I will definitely remember that since I'm not a big fan of extremely spicy foods.

You are not going to find much Japanese food from Leo's. They do have Japanese rice though.
The closest one that more to Korean and Japanese foods is in Asheville. It is Kim's Oriental Food. It is about an hour from Johnson city.
