I would be concerned about noise from the train tracks, which are very active. Also, it may not be correct about this particular area, but I've notice that housing in JC near train tracks tends to be more rundown. That's my take.

I've never been to that exact location, but the general area is fairly nice. It's off to the side of the Tree Streets and the entire area around the I-26/University Pkwy interchange (around the Milligan Hwy) is nice and new-ish.

I live near the train tracks, and, yeah, they're pretty active. You'd probably get very used to it, though. They don't even wake me up anymore.

I have to say that my visit to JC to look for potential places to live was a bust. I did figure out what size storage unit I needed for March-July. Any one know of any good storage places in the JC area? I went to Storage Max on Browns Mill Rd and they seemed kind of high.

There's a place called StoreRite in Boones Creek that runs around $50.

I'm sorry your trip turned out unsuccessful. It's quite hard to find a place to live here, especially renting, unless you already live here and can devote weeks or months to hunting.

Yeah, my time was very limited. But a friend of mine told me to come back up around May to look around since college students might be leaving various units. We'll see though.

Don't think they have climate control... I just know our church used them for a while w/o incident.

One more question and I think I can leave this topic alone.

Has anyone heard of the Windridge Colony area? I received a response to my ad on craigslist from someone with a condo for rent in the "complex." The pictures she sent looked great and my boyfriend is going to look at it in person for me. However, before I send him on a trip, I'd like to know about the area. I googled the address and it looks like its off of E. Mountain View Rd or Bristol Hwy (depending on which way you go to get there) somewhat close to Winged Deer (?) Park. I mainly want to know if the area is safe and quiet.

Thanks again!

Looks like's (geographically) equidistant from Boones Creek and the Bristol Hwy. A very nice, safe, quiet area and, a big plus, very close to "midtown" (for lack of a better word) JC with Target, the Mall etc.
