If you go all the way to the dilapidated railroad bridge, it's about 5 miles round-trip...perfect for a weekend afternoon stroll.

Williboy, I especially love the bear pic! They're such fantastic creatures to see in the wild, or even in one's backyard.

A few pics from my walk this afternoon in the Glendale area of western Washington Co., about 6 miles south of Fall Branch.

I was probably more fascinated by this old house (or school?) than a normal person should be, but it must've been a magnificent building many years ago. It's now filled with hay bales:

What a beautiful old structure. Looks like a school perhaps? Anyone know the history? I also am fascinating with all things old...guess that includes myself.

That building does look cool. To see something like that in person must be cool. I cam across an old place off 421 on the way to Shady Valley. Looked to be condemned, lots of historty there.

cool pics, kamoshika! The one of the barn reflecting off the pond should be entered in one of those picture contest threads 2Goldens runs. I just started checking them out - who knows - maybe you already have!

And that last one - wow - that's like a scene from a scary movie! It looks like it could tell a lot of stories.....

Thanks for the views, Kamoshika. In a couple of the Jearoldstown scenes the prominent mountain in the background is called Chimney Top. For a different view of it visit City-Data's Fall Branch page.

OH my thank you so much for these pics! Making me homesick for Kingsport, Fall Branch, Rock Springs. I recognize a lot of those places. I used to love rambling around the hills between Dark Holler and Double Springs.

Default Well, these are not NEAR as nice as Kamoshika's......

......But thought I would jump in here and share some of my N.E.TN pictures I have. These are not recent pictures (have to get out and take some more though now that I have a new camera!) but ones that have been taken over the past few years that I really like. I hope you enjoy them too.

The view from the dog park at Willow Springs park

Sunset along the Kingsport Green Belt Netherland Rd area.

The Holston River just out side of Rogersville

Sunset from hwy 75 (really a road) in Gray

From state road 81 over looking Jonesborough

Watauga Lake

Ducks in the Holston river along the Green Belt at sunset

mbmouse, those are some gorgeous scenes! I bet I could even get my dog to stop running in the dog park long enough to admire the view!
