UGH. I had a horrible day at work. Some son of a ***** fumed at me because he broke his watch band - got mad when I refused to give him his money back. He didn't have a receipt and we didn't carry it anymore! What the hell did he want? It was a $7 watch band! Jesus!

So finally he decided to buy a new one, unfortunately, and wanted me to put it on. Stood over me while I did so (it can take a while depending on your watch), muttering about how much help I was. Threw his debit card at me. Literally. Ripped the watch out of my hand, literally. Stomped off without so much as a bye or thank you.

Now, I am a very happy person. REALLY. But it took every ounce of self-restraint I had not to throw the watch in his face and tell him to cram it up his ass - if he could fit it with everything else up in there.

RANT OVER! Return to normalness. And sorry, I didn't have anywhere else to post this, haha.

You ever have anybody throw their change at you? I'm glad I no longer work in retail, but the restaurants were the worst, older people would throw a handfull of change on the counter, usually pennies falling behind the counter, expect me to count their change, then give them back the rest.

Jab, sorry you had such a rough day, we all have them and yea I agree, they can be really frustrating to get through. One incident like that can really get you down for a while. Just believe in karma, how he treated you will come back to him 10 fold. I know, it sure would be nice to be around when it happens, but just knowing it will should make you feel a bit better.
What we live through just makes us all stronger.
Oh, and he probably wasn't from round here hahahahaaha.
Hope you have a MUCH better day today!

No, he was from around here. And yes, Bailey, he was old! LOL! Just goes to show you that the stereotype of a young snotty person doesn't always hold true (of course).

Thanks, mouse. I'm off today so it's MUCH better! haha!

Jab, as a Target worker here in NY, i know exactly what you've been through! I am the cart attendant for my store up here but im often on registers...and have to deal with a wide range of guests on a daily basis....doing carry outs often, too, has me helping a wide range of people....the other day we told one lady to meet us at the side of the building where we're supposed to do the carry outs at -- she met us there -- without her vehicle -- and asked if she should pull it up there....huh. Had my fair share of guests throw things at me, too.... fun times.

Default I feel your pain.

I worked at Carlton Cards for quite a long time and of course, we had some real winners come in.

One lady ....I must have pulled AT LEAST 100 precious moment's figurines (no lie!) out of the back room for her to see....and to her...none of the eyes "looked right". She kept saying "see what I mean ?" . I was like........"um.no." I just knew she would buy one. NOPE. I must have spent an hour helping her, too.

Another one was "infamous" for trying to bring back merchandise that had NOT originally come from our store. She was not elderly, either. She came in one day and tried to return a high priced precious moments figurine and the thing would not scan on our registers. I even typed it in by hand three times. I KNEW we had not ever sold that figurine in our store. I asked her if she was sure it wasn't from Hallmark. "NO! I KNOW WHERE I GOT IT AND IT WAS HERE ! YOU JUST DON'T WANT TO HELP ME OR GIVE ME MY MONEY BACK !". (yeah, I really enjoy this, lady.)

So I tried explaining it to her that if the bar code would not ring up, it meant we had never had it in stock. She didn't get it.

She ended up screaming at me " I WANT A MANAGER!". "Well, I AM the manager on duty for today." That wasn't good enough. I told her to come back tomorrow. She threw a hissy and ended up yelling "MY HUSBAND IS A LAWYER!". (yeah, so...you should know not to return probablly stolen merchandise that is not from our store ?). Lol. Just had to laugh when she left. Like I said , she tried that kind of stuff alllll the time. She was well known at a bunch of the stores in the mall.

Isn't working with the public wonderful ?? Everyone should have to do it once in their life. I go out of my way to be nice to employees because I know how it feels to be on the receiving end !

Sorry you had a bad day !!!!!

Haha, we have a lady like that, too. She tries to return jewelry that obviously has never been at a Target in its life. She's figured out when the jewelry specialist is there so avoids those times, but still can't figure out when I work because my schedule is so varied - and I too know what jewelry we've sold for the past year!

Luckily I've never had THAT happen to me.....everything else has, though! After reading this, i tend to worry about it a bit more every time i'm ringing people out at the food court in my store....that's not my main area but i like to help out when they're busy.
