I read this morning and enjoyed the mayor's quote as well.
I wish traffic circles were employed more here; we have just the right amount of traffic flow to utilize them well. I think that Five Points will really be improved by this implementation.
I agree, I like the traffic circles....when you are using them with other people who know how they work that is. They have implemented this in Kingsport at about 5 different intersections over the past couple of years. However, the majority of the drivers come to the traffic circle and STOP before entering, they have NO idea how to use them, which can cause more problems than before the traffic circle was put in....so it might be a toss up? Maybe they could put directional pictures up just before you get to the circle and bigger MERGE signs or something?
Halloween goings on in Kingsport. They are going to have a marathon, truck or treats for kids and then a pub crawl with live music starting at 9:00pm, sounds like quite a night! Check out the link for the details.
Hey y'all! I noticed this morning that I finally got a little star next to my rep level....only took 4 years LOL!. Not really a big deal, but did make me smile. Just thought I would share.

That is beyond crappy that they did not even talk to the owner of that store before they publicly stated that it would have to be demolished.
Her father may have been informed of what was going on but since he passed away, she needed to be notified as well. Since she wasn't, they shouldn't move on with their plans. What are they going to do, throw her and her employees out on the side of the road? They need to think these things through more carefully.... looking at that video, there's plenty of other room for them to do what they need to and leave that store alone.
