Not to be missed either would be driving up through Flag Pond at the Temple Hill exit. So much beauty in this area.
The roads to Marshall and Hot Springs are breathtaking along the river and into the mountains.

Just to update this thread, I closed on my house at the end of September and I've been up here for almost a full month getting settled in. This area is gorgeous!

One question, are there any 24/7 fast food places with drive thrus in JC? My job has me working odd hours and I haven't quite found a good place to get dinner at 2am yet

Probably hands down your best late night bet for good chow (no drive thru) is Mid City Grill

Hardees on W. Market. is open

Perkins is open all night also but no drive thru

Cappy's might be open that late and they have a drive thru

2 am drive thrus... Hardees, yep. The University Parkway McDonalds used to be 24h but now it's only on Fridays and Saturdays that they stay open later.

Taco Bell, Wendy's and Krystal also stay open late, but I'm not sure that they're 24/7.

I know this may seem weird, but if you don't want to do the fast food option all the time but are hungry after work and it is in the middle of the night, stop by Wal-Mart. They have a section by the deli that has some decent salads, heat and eat soup bowls, subs and some other quick meal options that are a bit healthier for you than the fast food route.

Some Wal-Marts also have a small selection of prepackaged chinese food in that same area of the store as well.

Or you could go to Kroger (24 hour) and pick up some sushi if they're not sold out (they frequently are at night cause they're so close to campus... lol)

After some driving I found that McDonalds! That will be my 2nd bet behind Walmart, since Walmart is really close and I checked it out they do have a lot of subs. Thanks for helping me with that, now I wont starve

Now my other question... where's the closest inexpensive (relatively speaking) liquor store to I-26 & Boone's Creek Rd? I'm not used to all my favorite late night gaming drinks (joose, tilt, four, spark, etc) being only 6% at my gas stations, so I'm trying to figure out where I should be looking to get the "real deal" so to speak

You all have been a big help and I really appreciate it!
