transportation from Johnson city to Charlotte, NC (airport)
Hi all,
I wanted to know if there is public transportation(buses, trains anything) that can get you from Johnson city to the airport at Charlotte, NC? I know there is an airport TRI but it's way too expensive for me. Any advice would help.

Mass transportation is one thing that's sorely lacking in this part of the world. Too bad all the trains are gone..
I *think* there used to be a bus from Boone, NC but that was some time ago. Maybe check at the bus station in downtown JC? Perhaps a one-way car rental from the TRI airport to the CLT airport? I may have to do that myself (in the opposite direction) in about a week so I've been looking into it..
Good luck in finding a solution.
(So wish the trains still ran.. Imagine all the gas we'd save!)

There's probably a Greyhound from the station in JC to Charlotte... other than that, I know of nothing unless you rent a one-way UHaul or car rental! lol

Yeah, all I can think of too is a Greyhound bus.
My aunt recently had to take one from Bristol TN to Richmond VA to meet up with my uncle in Williamsburg VA. He and his son were up there with his school on a field trip and she was to meet up with them after closing a deal on a house, but did want want to drive back by herself and a one-way car rental was $$$!
She said it was not too bad... have you looked into Greyhound?
