ETSU to Close Bristol Facilities, University Press Among Other Budget-Cutting Moves
East Tennessee State University announced Wednesday the school will shut down its in-house printing press operation by September, eliminating 11 positions.
The move to close University Press was recommended by a task force appointed by ETSU President Paul Stanton this past fall. The task force was charged with looking at reducing costs and improving efficiency on the nearly 14,000-student campus after Tennessee Gov. Phil Bredesen ordered all state universities and colleges to drastically cut their budgets.
