I'd like to throw in a couple:

*When going to "town" meant heading to "Hills" and "Big K" on Stone Drive--or the "World of Toys" on Lynn Garden Dr.
*Kings Giant Table buffet was THE place to eat fish on Fri night.
*Penn Dixie was a high paying, coveted employer, along with the Eastman and the Press!
*4th of July fireworks meant sitting in the Ft Henry Mall parking lot on the car's hood.
*Eastman Cabins was top dog for fieldtrips, along with Bays Mountain Park!

Just a few of my Kport memories.....

Default Yes !

So true !

Ooo and does anyone else remember Roses department store ? It had a restaurant in it and we used to eat there and shop there all the time.

Hills, too. Montgomery Wards !!! Yeah !

Did you know that Mama's Table buffet near North High School is the same restaurant/owner as the Kings Table ? I think the quality of food there vs. the price just isn't great at all anymore but I remember going to Kings Table almost every sunday after church when I was a little kid.

You can remember Brooks Circle. And you might remember a Times-News story about a girl who got ticketed for driving around the circle 21 times to celebrate the 21 points the D-B football team scored that night.

Default I really miss ....

CRUISING BROAD ! I miss it so bad ! Wish I could go back for one weekend and be 17 again...back to 1995-1996 !

I am 30 years old and ohh the memories. Every Friday/Saturday night we would head to Broad street and meet up with a bunch of our friends.

If you ever saw a ElCamino with neon lights under it and a booming stereo....with people in the back yelling "yeeeeeee haaaa" and other people yelling "yeeeeee haaaa" back....

That was me, my boyfriend (now husband) and a bunch of our crazy friends.

Yes..I said ElCamino ! LOL.

I had a red Fiero. That was my first car...but my boyfriend always drove.

We would just cruise around a bunch of times then we would park and sit on the tailgate and talk to our friends all night long.

Kpt doesn't allow cruising anymore. I guess it got too dangerous/annoying. ??

Even my mom and dad cruised Broad back when they were teens !
