Stumbled into a great restaurant
My wife and I were Joensing for some Chinese food yesterday so we went to the China King in Blountville across from Food City...What a joke one person in the place and she couldn't speak a lick of english, so we finally got our order placed and went to pay I pulled out my bank card and she says "Ohhh sowwy no kedit cods".
So we jumped acroos the street to Giovannis next door to Food City. It was freekin awesome. I got a calzone that was massive and that was a medium. My wife got a cheesesteek...yes a real cheesesteak. Not that garbage they try to pass of around here as a cheesesteak. I havent seen one like that since leaving Baltimore. OOOOh eat at Giovanni's

We "stumbled" nicely into Giovanni's too, on one of our many trips down to JC to build our home. Man oh man what a gem of a place. It's one of the best Italian meals I've had, and the prices are so dang low for the size of the meals. Well prepared, fresh ingredients, great presentation (the chef even swirled sauce and parmesan artistically on my plate). HIGHLY recommend it! We stop there frequently now.

If the parking lot is packed, I'll avoid it.

Nobody goes there anymore; it's too crowded.

In the south we say "hankering"...none of that EVOO Rachel Ray slang around here.
That's nice...I see the mods have chosen to leave up this racially insensitive and offensive post. Was I the only one offended by that garbage?
Other then that, I would agree that Giovinna's puts out some good food.

If that is the way the lady said it, that is the accent she has, so what? People mention our "Appalachian" accent all the time in good fun. I don't see it as racially insensitive at all.
Should CD be required to remove any post that explains that when they left a TN restaurant they heard "Yin's come back now"?
Personally I think it just goes to show the amount of diversity there really is in the Tri-Cities and that is a good thing.

Yeah, you're right. There was nothing racist about spelling it out phonetically!
It's all just good fun.
