But does your $10 really go towards the sampling?? I thought that was just an entry fee?

Oh. If so, then, yeah, that's. Not. Good.
Sorry. Never been to anything like that before, so I don't know how it works!

I had previously heard that "sampling" would not be allowed. I did inquire with the coordinator, Jacob Higganbotham, and here's his reply: "The teams will not be giving food away to the public. However I have two of the teams that will be selling to the public. This a competition that is judged by the kcbs." I have never been to one of these events either. I figured if I can't sample the entries why bother.

Oh. Hm. Okay, so you pay $10 to get into a car show. Then you can buy food from a couple BBQ vendors!?
I'll pass. <g>

Well phooey.
I guess I'll pass on this one, too. Not paying 10.00 to get in only to have no free samples and then have to turn around and pay (probablly high prices) again for lunch.
If my dad puts his cars in the car show, I might go. He has a 69 Camaro pace car, 40 Chevy Coupe, and Ford Model A.

Same here, going to have to pass. Good concept, but the draw isn't there for the price.

$10 just to get in and then you gotta pay for food??? That does sound like a rip off....seems to me they'd be better off charging $20 and having that include a decent helping of BBQ from either of the vendors....seems like less of a rip off that way.

The entry fee is for entrance to the event, car show and there is entertainment. You have to buy your own food and there are non bbq vendors also.
While this is a Rotary sponsored event, and I know the money would be put to good use, as I mentioned earlier this is a no go for my pocketbook.
