I really like these events but charging $10 a head in your first year...maybe they should work to build attendance a bit. I hope it works out for them.
I went to the Bloomin BBQ and Bluegrass event last weekend in Sevierville. I think they had 25,000..not terrible for a rainy weekend.

This is the start of our vacation, so I considered going, but figured it would be around a $5 entrance. If anybody goes on Friday, let us know how it is.

$10 a head without bigtime headliners is a no go for me.

Hey Guys and Gals!
New to posting so take it easy on me.. Please....
I have been "lurking" (really learning a lot) from the forum for a while now, but I had to post when I saw this topic, because I'm pretty excited about this event!
I have wanted to attend one of these Kansas City BBQ competitions for a while now, really just to check out all the BBQ rigs and maybe pick up some tips along the way. It will be pretty cool. Good food (past champions and current contenders set up booths), good music, nice family atmosphere (they have a kids zone thingy), and arguably the best time of the year in E. Tn!!! And $10 for 2 days of entertainment ain't that bad....
Chuck

The 10.00 is for the car show and the BBQ, right ?
They have been having the car show there for a long time/charging to get in. As far as I know, the BBQ is the new addition.
I wonder how much the food will cost ? I LOVE me some GOOD BBQ !!!
Phil's is good. I love their baked beans, too.

I think $10 is a fair price. I mean you're going to pay $10 for a meal anyway. This way you get lots of sampling AND a car show! And music!
