Default 4th of July in Kingsport

I've been living here in Kingsport since July 2007 but have never once been here during 4th of July.

Does anyone know where to go to watch the fireworks in Kingsport or Bristol? When is the best time to go and claim your spot? Are there any festivities to go to before the fireworks go off? Is it free or do I need to stop at an ATM before hand?

Thanks in advance for your response and I hope everyone has a safe and happy 4th.

I am not sure about Bristol, but as far as Kingsport, all the "stuff" (vendors, music, kids area, etc) happen on Broad Street between Main St and Church Circle. It is free concert but you'll want to bring some money for food and drink. The fireworks are set off from cement hill, behind the chamber building and old train station, they are set off after dark, which is around 9:30-9:45. Bring a lawn chair and enjoy!
Here is the schedule, I would get there around 6:00 for the best spots.

Entertainment
Full Circle to open at 6:00 pm
Benny Wilson to play at 8:00 pm

Fireworks
At 9:45 pm shot from top of Domtar’s Cement Hill
Musical accompaniment simulcast on 98.5 WTFM

I'm pretty sure for bristol theyre from the inside the track. a lot of people park in the first part of the lot going in to the drag strip (between the road and first gate theres a fair amount of space) I have no idea about the times though, its been about 6 years since i watch the bristol ones.
