My neighborhood had a very bad experience with some people related to the "paving industry" [if you know what i mean] city data has rules regarding further references so I can only speak vaguely but they are very much in and about the tri-cities. They are using at least four different company names. Drag racing incident in Kingsport is related to this bunch. Internet search engines like google will provide you lots of info if you need it. Anyone coming on to your property to offer cheap asphalt work. Beware. We have learned volumes about these folks that have traveled across several states. Can't fathom how they get away with everything they do, gypsy paving is the least of their transgressions.
All I'm going to say. Be wary.

Warning your neighbors about known scams is different than advertising or consumer complaints. As long as you have a link that can give others more info about this scam and you include it in your post, please let us all know the name or names these companies are going by. We are here to help each other after all.

be leary of out of state contractors

If you have problems and get scammed, good luck getting it resolved as they will long be out of state again.

That's what's amazing, they don't just leave after a week or two. The vehicles have TN plates, whether they're stolen or not is beyond my ability to check. Some of the trucks are very nicely lettered/graphics but they are four different company names. The legal system must be powerless to make anything substantial stick to them. We started to research the family for reasons of our own and it's difficult to track them since the whole family changes names like most people change socks but you can still track their activity and all I'm going to say further about this bunch is it's amazing what all they're into, and how brazenly they live and carry on [and this is just what you can find on the internet, probably much, much more going on]. The whole bunch, the father the mother, definitely the brother seem to be into a lot of different stuff...it's amazing is all I can say about it.

The news stated that the man indicted for the drag racing accident's court date is having difficulty with scheduling a witness. I'm guessing they are trying to prove that it may have been a brother who was in the father's corvette but that's just a guess. Said they have dna evidence but I would think without an eyewitness that doesn't mean anything more than that the suspected driver was in that vehicle at some point in time. Either that or they are having trouble scheduling the brother's appearance around his arrest in a Knoxville hotel last October with bags of suspected stolen jewelry and other items identified from burglaries in the area and southwest VA, or for his murder parole violation from Maryland. Interesting reading if it's all the same family/group. When you search the names that repeatedly crop up in the different news articles and blogs and put 2 and 2 together it would seem to be the same group that has trickled down through WV. I think they spent some time up near Martinsburg and then down in Mercer county. Seems like that bunch was ultimately moved out by the WV Atty. General from some announcements I read on the internet. May just all be a big coincidence but I'm guessing it's all the same group.
