Has anyone else noticed the fall colors today?? I know that it was cloudy with the rain this afternoon/evening but I had to run an errand to Johnson City late this afternoon and the colors were just fantastic! The sun shining through on the mountains in the distance, it looked like someone lit a few mountains from the inside and the colors were just so bright. I am hoping to get to get out this weekend with the camera some, I think it might be the peak weekend to do so.

I love looking at your pictures! This area of TN is just beautiful, I can't wait until hubby and I can get up there for a long weekend and have a good poke around just to confirm that it's somewhere we could pick up and move to.

Until then, I just love to look at your pictures and day dream...about our future life in TN....away from the Florida heat, hurricanes, boring flat land, and did I mention the heat!

The colours were quite beautiful today as well. For now the rains have set in, but the beautiful huge maple right outside my front door is filling my living room with beautiful yellows.

I'm a bit disappointed. The trees in the park across the street didn't put on a spectacular show this year like they did last fall. The leaves turned brown and fell off, the end. Too much wet maybe. Ah well, I get a nice view of the color on the mountains as I drive to work every morning.

Yes, I think there was too much rain this year. We went on a picture taking drive Sunday. Went from Gray on 75 to Greeneville, south on 70, took the back way into and through (quickly! hehehe) Newport, picked up 321 to Gatlinburg and into the Smokey Mountain Park...didn't get to far into the park evidently there was a bear in a tree close to the road several miles up and EVERYONE had stopped, so as we were loosing light we parked and took one of the quite walk ways to the river to shoot some pictures. The colors were defiantly brighter and more colorful the closer in the mountains we got.
To see pictures, I am about to upload them into the Tri-Cities picture thread and the TN picture thread on the main TN page.

Some of the trees are less than spectacular because of that one night that we got heavy frost. It zapped some trees straight to brown. The maples look great though.

Yes, a lot of yellows this year and not as many reds, oranges and pinks.
