I am trying desperately to find a good Haunted House, maze, barn, etc to go to this week. I need that it open through this week (Week before Halloween.) Im willing to drive about an hour away from Kingsport. So far my online searches only keep pulling up the haunted Forest and the Haunted Tomb (which isnt active this year.)

Anyone know of anywhere else to try?

Fenders Farm in Limestone, probably about an hour from you. They do a haunted maze on weekends only. There's also a maze in Gray (across from Food City) that in years past has been haunted, but I can't confirm this year.

One of the best mazes I've seen is Stickley's Farm off Hwy 394 going toward Blountville, It is amazing. There is a small one (10 acres) on Bobby Hicks Highway in Gray toward the airport. Don't know of any haunted houses.
Happy Halloween!!!!

If it's not too late, this looks good.

The Elizabethton Star (http://www.starhq.com/news/html/news/articles/articles.asp?day=Thursday&article=nw-scarystoriesatcarterman.html - broken link)

All kinds of scary and unexplained happenings are said to occur in graveyards. Tonight, the graveyard at the Carter Mansion will be the setting for the annual Scary Stories at the Carter Mansion storytelling event.

The annual storytelling will begin at 7:30 p.m. in the graveyard and Homespun Storytelling Guild will be telling the tales for the evening.

The storytellers will be centered in the park with the stone fenced graveyard behind them to provide an appropriate backdrop for the tales.

"They will tell a variety of stories," said Jennifer Bauer, manager of Sycamore Shoals State Park. "They do a lot of stories that are spooky but they are all family oriented and would be good for all ages."
