Anyone know a physican or naturopathic doctor or any other person skilled in alternative medicine? Moved here recently and haven't found anyone that fundamentally believes total healing with nutirition, exercise, supplements, etc is possilbe.

I would highly recommend Dr. Ha at the Castle Clinic, located at the 'Oaks Castle' off Roan Street. She's an acupuncturist trained in Eastern and Western medicine and is also a researcher at ETSU's College of Medicine. She is great, very professional and very kind, too (and also uses Chinese herbs for treatment). There are also primary care physicians at the clinic although right now I don't think they're taking new patients but Dr. Ha would probably see you. Check their website and I think they might be what you're looking for. Best of luck!

Hvae you considered an Osteopathic physician? I dont think the public seems to know much about D.O.'s or their approach to medican versus an M.D. A D.O. has the same credentials and certifications as an M.D., but approaches a medical problem from the standpoint of treating the body as a whole. Just a thought

Finally found some help at Women's Nutritional Health Center on Unaka in Johnson City. They correctly identified heavy metal issues as the major cause of my chronic fatigue. Had gone to specialized fatigue centers staffed by MD's in Nashville and Atlanta, which helped, but did not determine and correct the core issue.

The applied kinesiology approach as well as nutrition emphasis at the Women's Nutritional Center truly is life-changing.

Dr. Ward at the Women's Nutritional Health Center on E. Unaka Ave. in Johnson City is phenomenal. We are so lucky to have him here in the Tri Cities. People travel all over the US to find doctors who use this specific form of muscle response testing - also referred to as kinesiology.

I'll try to explain it in general terms. Kinesiology determines which organs are weak and immunologically challenged (bacterial, chemical, parasitic, metal, food reactivity, scar issues are the most common). Muscle response testing can pinpoint which organs are impaired and what is causing the problem. Then he prioritizes which organ is damaged the worst and begins to use diet, nutrition and whole food supplements to draw poisons from the body, moving on to the next problem when the muscle testing indicates an issue has been resolved. People just don't realize how much toxins impair the body and how they can lodge in an organ for years. He uses whole food supplements, not vitamins. I highly recommend him.

I went to Dr. Ward and he also said I had heavy metal poisoning. He had his assistant hold my hand while he held her hand to determine my energy levels. This was the muscle response testing. He was a very nice man, but he seemed to rush through my appt. because he had several other people waiting. Everyone is different and I am happy that some people found him to be helpful. But this is just my experience. He usually has coupons where the first appt. is free or at very minimal cost, so you can determine for yourself if it would be the right course of treatment for you.
