I had been driving to JC to shop at Earthfare in JC which is 25 miles away from me. I recently bought several pounds of premium ground beef that looked good in the counter. When I got it home and unwrapped it I found it spoiled. I didn't not feel like another trip to return this item. I am very disappointed that a store like EarthFare would not check their own products for spoilage.

If you haven't already done so, I bet the management would do anything reasonable to fix your problem, especially if you let them know how far you drive and that you've been telling folks how great they are. Further, mistakes happen in any operation; it's how they're handled that matters.

Bad meat is an acceptable mistake??? Um, NO. Should never happen. I found the place pretentious, anyway. Wait, I may get accused of stalking Earthfare.........

Who said it was acceptable? RC said mistakes happen.

Moderator cut: statement orphaned

I like Earthfare and bad meat is a problem. Meat though can look and or smell bad and not really be bad. (Not to question Donsabi at all...just pointing it out).

Life is 10% of what happens to you, and 90% how you react to it.

I'm more interested in EarthFare's reaction, than I am a one in a thousand mistake.

I drive 2 miles to buy meat at Ingles and have not had any bad meat or bad anything else for that matter. The meat must be sitting at Earthfare. I wnder how they are doing at that location.

I stick by my original comment. Bad meat mistakes should NEVER happen, especially in a chain that charges increased prices for its exclusivity. I, for one, have never purchased bad meat - ever. And I've shopped a lot of chains over the years.
