We would like to relocate to the Tri Cities area and are looking for Windows System Administrator Jobs, (12 years experience) could anyone tell us which are the larger technology employers in the tri cities? We are presently in Straw Plains north of Knoxville. Our retired parents are relocating to Kingsport. They took care of us, now it is time to take care of them. Thank you bunches in advance for any help

Ehh... not sure about "technology employers." I do see some adverts for sys admin and other IT jobs on Craigslist at times, but I'm not very knowledgeable about the industry. There is a fairly strong grad program at ETSU, maybe they can provide you with some resources?

Also the VA Medical Center. Would their jobs be hired through the government, and thus listed separately?

Smile we were in your shoes

I grew up in the area & had been in Atlanta since college. MYhubby also a system administrator had a hard time finding an IT job. They exist but the wheels turn slow
Network all you can. Perhaps use your moms address on the resume. We had someone at Eastman tell us they get a lot of applicants that are not serious about moving. Once they know you have family ties it changes things
Looking online only it took 18 MOS to get responses
The Chamber of Commerce has a list of companies with IT jobs. We are worried that if layoffs occur there are not many places to go. Widen your objective as a lot of companies use different titles/systems than in our experience in. Atlanta or Knoxville. We moved June 2008 & are very happy tone in the area again. Good luck!!!!
